- We adopted Mazee, a two-year-old female pit bull, from a shelter in February 2012. All I knew about the breed was from horror stories in the media, and I was nervous. Mazee has completely changed my mind. She's gentle, fun-loving and gives an endless supply of sloppy kisses. Pit bulls are great!
